The questions we get most.
Where does my practice data live?
On your device, in Apple's SwiftData store. There is no 10K Hours server. If you turn on iCloud sync, the same data is synced privately between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit — we still don't see it.
How do I log hours I already practiced?
Tap the + Log button from anywhere. Choose your skill, pick a duration (quick chips: 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 min, or type any amount), and set the date. You can backdate to any past day or batch-log a whole week at once. No timer required.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings → Export. 10K Hours generates a CSV bundle of your skills, sessions, and milestones and hands it to the iOS share sheet. From there you can save it to Files, AirDrop, or email it to yourself. Export is a Pro feature.
I bought Pro on another device. How do I restore it?
Open the Paywall (Settings → Upgrade, or any locked Pro feature) and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID, your Pro entitlement is verified through StoreKit and restored instantly.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → 10K Hours. You can change plans, cancel, or check renewal dates there. Refunds, when warranted, are also handled by Apple.
Why active weeks instead of daily streaks?
Real practice is uneven. Musicians have gigs. Athletes have rest days. Language learners have busy weeks. Daily streaks punish that reality. We track active weeks — how many of the last weeks did you practice at all? That's a more honest measure of consistency and it never makes you feel guilty for living your life.
Does iCloud sync work across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch?
Yes — anywhere you're signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled. The watchOS companion and iPad share the same SwiftData/CloudKit store.
What does the focus score actually measure?
It's an on-device heuristic combining session length, pause behavior, and (if you grant HealthKit) heart-rate stability. Nothing is sent off-device. It's a signal, not a verdict — use it to spot patterns, not to rank your days.
How do I delete all my data?
Uninstalling 10K Hours removes everything on the device. If iCloud sync was on, also delete the app on every signed-in device and clear its iCloud data: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → 10K Hours → Delete Data.
Can I run 10K Hours without iCloud?
Yes. iCloud sync is optional. With it off, everything stays on the one device. If you reinstall the app, you'll start fresh — so export occasionally if you go that route.
